The Bell Inn – COVID Update
Since re-opening our doors in July, we would like to thank you for returning – it has been great seeing you all! With socially distanced tables, hand sanitisers at main entrances, contact detail logging, staff wearing face coverings and full table service, as well as everything that goes on behind the scenes, we thank you for adapting so well to our new measures.
Following the government announcement this week, we have made further changes to our restaurant and we wanted to update you in readiness for your visit.
All changes will be in place from 24/09/2020.
Opening Hours – We will close our doors at 10pm. The latest table booking we can take will be 8.30pm. Last orders for drinks will be called at 9:30pm.
Face Coverings – Along with our staff, we ask that you wear face coverings as you enter and move around the pub. Face coverings can be removed once seated at your table.
Table Bookings – We will continue to take name & telephone number from one person on each table to support the Government’s Track & Trace scheme and details will be held for 21 days and then deleted. We will not be taking bookings for tables of more than 6 people.
Full table service will continue so please do not approach the bar. In order to safely seat you, there may be a small wait as you enter the pub/garden – we ask for your patience
as we adapt and adhere to these extra rules and regulations.
Takeaways – Our takeaway service will continue Friday – Sunday so please download our app to book a slot.
We ask that you work with us as we continue to adapt our business so we can all stay healthy, together and we look forward to welcoming you all.
Get To Know Us
Deep in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, The Bell Inn is an outstanding 17th century inn, complete with exposed beams, flagstone floors, oak furniture, open fireplaces…and a warm welcome.
The Bell Inn has been providing refreshment for over 300 years. According to local history, William Shakespeare was on his way back to Stratford upon Avon in the rain after meeting Drayton and Ben Jonson for a drink at The Bell in Welford, when he contracted fatal pneumonia! Luckily the roads are somewhat better these days, and we can always arrange a taxi for you to get home.
More About Us
When Colin and Teresa moved to The Bell in 1995, their aim was to provide quality food, together with outstanding service, while also offering customers a really good pint if that’s all they wanted…and this is exactly what they’ve done!
The awards The Bell Inn is constantly winning are testament in themselves, as is the fact that customers keep on coming back again, and again, and again.
We are pleased and proud to announce
The Bell Inn – Welford-on-Avon has been named as the best dining pub in Warwickshire 2020.
(Six years running) The Bell Inn, which is now in its twenty-fifth year under the stewardship of landlord and landlady Colin and Teresa Ombler, has been given the prestigious title by the Good Pub Guide, a national institution and bible for pub-goers..
